Established in 1994, Rio Grande Trading was purchased by Lynn Atkinson in 1998. Over the past 20 years Lynn and his team have transformed a small pottery shop into a 7,000 square foot showroom featuring one of the best selections of Southwest Native American Jewelry and Art in New Mexico.
A 3rd generation trader born in New Mexico and raised in New Mexico and Arizona, Lynn has over 50 years experience in both retail and wholesale Native American Arts & Crafts. Building his business on a foundation of integrity, respect for the Native American artists, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Lynn carries on the tradition, legacy and integrity associated with the Atkinson name.

Matt Smith, General Manager
Adele Ramirez, Jewelry Manager & Buyer
Matt spent most of his youth in Michigan before moving to Gallup at the age of 15. Rising through the ranks from sales assoociate at our small western wear store in Gallup, Matt has worked with the Atkinson Family over 30 years and has been instrumental in turning Rio Grande Trading into the incredible operation you see today. During his years in Gallup, Matt learned conversational Navajo and you will often find him enjoying conversations with the local Navajo silversmiths in their native tongue. An experienced, dedicated and charismatic leader, Matt works with his team, customers and suppliers to ensure that every experience with Rio Grande is exceptional.
Annie Johnson, Retail Manager
With over 25 years experience working with Native American Arts & Crafts and Southwest Gifts, Annie is an experienced Manager with a passion for customer service and the art native to the American Southwest. Annie joined the RGW team in 2015, bringing her exceptional skills in customer service and merchandising to round out the management team. Those who work with her know that no one is a stranger to Annie, as she ensures that every guest who enters Rio Grande Wholesale feels welcome and valued. Annie's commitment and expertise have created a unique and memorable experience, resulting in satisfied and loyal customers.
Born and raised in New Mexico, Adele began her career in Native American art at a young age, and offers 40 years experience in wholesale Native American Arts & Crafts. For 20 years, our wholesale customers have come to appreciate and depend on Adele's keen eye, product knowledge as well as her trademark smile. A passion for the jewelry, respect for the artists and the highest level of dedication to customer service have made Adele a well known and respected fixture in the industry.
