Experience, Integrity, Service
When you shop at Rio Grande, you have the confidence that comes with buying from one of the most trusted names in the industry.
Established in 1994, Rio Grande Trading was purchased by Lynn Atkinson in 1998. Over the past 20 years Lynn and his team have transformed a small pottery shop into a 7,000 square foot showroom featuring one of the best selections of Southwest Native American Jewelry and Art in New Mexico.
A 4th generation trader born in New Mexico and raised in New Mexico and Arizona, Lynn has over 50 years experience in both retail and wholesale Native American Arts & Crafts. Building his business on a foundation of integrity, respect for the Native American artists, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Lynn carries on the tradition, legacy and integrity associated with the Atkinson name.
After 22 years, Erin Atkinson (daughter #2 to Lynn) returns to the family business as COO. After acquiring her M.A. from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, Erin stayed in Portland and further developed her business leadership skills in the private sector and nonprofit sector. Erin returns with a passion for carrying on the family legacy and a love of the Native American arts.
